View Health Overview Dashboard in MSSP Portal

The Health overview section of the dashboard in the MSSP portal provides a centralized, high-level view of critical performance parameters for your tenants' Secure Firewall ASA devices.

Use this procedure to view the device health and resource usage of the Secure Firewall ASA devices onboarded to your tenants.

Procedure


Step 1

In the left pane, click Dashboard.

Step 2

Navigate to the Health overview section.

Step 3

From the Duration drop-down list, select the duration for which you want to view data.

This helps you choose how often the health dashboard data is refreshed automatically or is disabled entirely.

Step 4

Click the health parameter whose details you want to view. This table describes all the health metrics that are available in the Health overview dashboard.

Health metrics

Description

Categories

Interfaces Physical or logical connection points for network traffic. They segment a network and control the flow of data between different security zones.
  • In the Interfaces section, click Error, Warning, or Stable to view the interfaces in these three categories.

  • Click a device to drill down and view the interfaces.

  • To launch the Health page on the tenant with the device selected, log in to the Security Devices page in the Security Cloud Control platform. Select the device on your tenant, and from the right drawer, navigate to Device Actions > Monitoring > Health.

Overall memory usage

The percentage of total installed memory that is currently being used by the system, applications, and the operating system.

You will experience slower system and application performance if the memory usage is close to 100%.

  • In the Overall Memory Usage section, click Over 80%, 50-80%, or Under 50% to view the devices in these three categories.

  • Click a device to drill down and view the overall memory usage of the selected device on the Security Devices page.

  • To launch the Health page on the tenant with the device selected, log in to the Security Devices page in the Security Cloud Control platform. Select the device on your tenant, and from the right drawer, navigate to Device Actions > Monitoring > Health.

Overall CPU usage

The percentage of your processor's total processing power currently being used to run programs and execute tasks.

You will experience long load and save times if the CPU usage is close to 100%.

  • In the Overall CPU Usage section, click Over 80%, 50-80%, or Under 50% to view the devices in these three categories.

  • Click a device to drill down and view the overall CPU usage of the selected device on the Security Devices page.

  • To launch the Health page on the tenant with the device selected, log in to the Security Devices page in the Security Cloud Control platform. Select the device on your tenant, and from the right drawer, navigate to Device Actions > Monitoring > Health.

Overall disk usage

The percentage of your hard drive's processing capacity currently being utilized.

You will experience slower system and application performance if the disk usage is close to 100%.

  • In the Overall Disk Usage section, click Over 80%, 50-80%, or Under 50% to view the devices in these three categories.

  • Click a device to drill down and view the overall disk usage of the selected device on the Security Devices page.

  • To launch the Health page on the tenant with the device selected, log in to the Security Devices page in the Security Cloud Control platform. Select the device on your tenant, and from the right drawer, navigate to Device Actions > Monitoring > Health.

Interface error list
  • Link status: Indicates whether the link that the interface is connected to is active or inactive.

  • Dropped packets: One or more packets of data traveling across a computer network fail to reach their destination.

  • Input errors: General category of errors that occur when a network interface receives a frame with some form of corruption or issue, preventing it from being processed correctly.

  • Click a device to drill down and view the error on the Security Devices page.

  • To launch the Health page on the tenant with the device selected, log in to the Security Devices page in the Security Cloud Control platform. Select the device on your tenant, and from the right drawer, navigate to Device Actions > Monitoring > Health.
