Deploy configuration changes from deployments page

This task allows you to deploy configuration changes to multiple devices from a centralized location, ensuring that all devices receive the necessary updates efficiently.

The badge on the Deploy icon (Deploy icon.) in the menu bar of Security Cloud Control indicates how many devices have configuration changes awaiting deployment. Click the icon to open the Devices with Pending Changes dialog box.

Devices are grouped into tabs by type ( Firewall Threat Defense devices). Click the tab for the device type that you want to view.

When you deploy to Cloud-Delivered Firewall Management Center-managed Firewall Threat Defense devices, the Devices with Pending Changes dialog box remains open and displays a progress banner. The page displays each device's deployment status and progress percentage. You can click View All Deployments to view the full deployment history.

Before you begin

When you make configuration changes to a Firewall Threat Defense device through the Cloud-Delivered Firewall Management Center, the device can take up to 10 minutes before it displays as Not Synced in Security Cloud Control and becomes available for deployment.

Procedure

Step 1

In the menu bar of Security Cloud Control, click the Deploy icon (Deploy icon.).

Step 2

Click the appropriate device type tab.

Step 3

Select one or more devices to display the pending changes for those devices in the right pane.

Step 4

Review the pending changes and click Deploy now to deploy the changes.

You can copy the configuration changes either as YAML or JSON by clicking the copy icon.

Note

If you see a yellow warning triangle next to a device, you cannot deploy to that device. Hover over the icon to view the details.

If a configuration change triggers a warning, for example, an access policy that references a security zone not assigned to an interface, the deployment fails and displays a warning message. You can acknowledge the warning and proceed with the deployment anyway or cancel and fix the configuration before you try again.

The configuration changes are deployed to the selected devices. The deployment status and progress percentage are displayed for each device during the deployment process.
